Portal response speed enhancement

It is well known, that portals constructed on portal technologies proper often concede to the sites created on the basis of simple html in speed of response. On the one hand the given fact is the result of portal technologies complexity, but on the other hand users have the same demands to open portals, as to simple sites.
One of key factors of response time increase in portals on the basis of IBM WebSphere Portal is not optimum use of IBM Web Content Management (WCM). During projects development КСК experts found and used a lot of solutions. For further increase of high-speed properties KCK company has carried out additional research of factors influencing portal speed, created with use of WCM.
During analysis the following parameters were considered and estimated:
- Hardware maintenance;
- WCM and IBM WebSphere Portal integration methods;
- WCM settings;
- Cashing means;
- Optimization of work with databases;
- System architecture en masse.
As a result of research "narrow" places were defined and recommendations on their elimination were developed.
